About Us

OUR SERVICES

Bonding

Bonding is the process of applying a tooth-colored resin to repair or change the color or shape of a tooth.  Due to cosmetic reasons, bonding is most often used on front teeth.

Bridges

Bridges are natural-looking dental appliances that can replace a section of missing teeth. Because they are custom-made, bridges are barely noticeable and can restore the natural contour of teeth as well as the proper bite relationship between upper and lower teeth.

Bridges are sometimes referred to as fixed partial dentures, because they are semi-permanent and are cemented to existing teeth or implants.

Some bridges are removable partial dentures. Porcelain, precious alloys or combinations of materials are usually used to make bridge appliances. Appliances called Implant Bridges are attached to an area below the gum tissue, or the bone.

Dentures

We offer both complete and partial dentures. Dentures replace all or some extracted teeth in upper or lower arch and are removable. Some minor preperation are required in order to fit removable dentures.

Cosmetic Dentistry

Almost anything is possible with today’s advanced procedures and materials available to give you a great smile that you have always wanted.

Extractions

Extractions are the removal of a tooth or teeth. This procedure is required for non-restorable, non-functional or wisdom tooth.

Fillings

Tooth coloured (white) fillings are composite resin. Dental fillings used to restore tooth structure that has been fractured or decayed.  White fillings can also be used to cosmetically change the colour, size and shape of teeth.

Implants

Dental implants replace your teeth permanently and offer affordable solutions for missing teeth.  Implants provide a natural and comfortable solution that look and feel like the former teeth.  The implant is surgically placed in the jawbone and replaces the root of a natural tooth.  Advancements in technology offer a less invasive procedure and therefore less painful, offering faster recovery times.

Sealants

Sealants are plastic resin material bonded in the deep grooves and pits of back teeth for the prevention of decay.

Wisdom Tooth Extraction

Wisdom teeth are the third set of molars that usually erupts when a person is in their late teens to early twenties.  Removal or extraction of wisdom teeth is sometimes necessary

Dental Hygiene

Your dental cleaning actually includes many important services in addition to the scaling and polishing of your teeth. During this appointment your Dentist also performs a thorough examination of your teeth and mouth. This exam not only involves checking your teeth for decay, but also provides screening for other serious conditions including periodontal (gum) disease, oral cancer, bruxisim (tooth grinding), and the weakening of old crowns, bridges and fillings.

Crowns

Crowns are synthetic caps, usually made of a material like porcelain or porcelain fused to metal, placed on the top of a tooth, typically used to restore a tooth's function and appearance following a restorative procedure such as a Root Canal Therapy. When decay in a tooth has become so advanced that large portions of the tooth must be removed, crowns are often used to restore the tooth.

Crowns are also used to attach bridges, cover implants, prevent a cracked tooth from becoming worse, or an existing filling is in jeopardy of becoming loose or dislocated. Crowns also serve an aesthetic use, and are applied when a discolored or stained tooth needs to be restored to its natural appearance.

A tooth must usually be reduced in size to accommodate a crown. An impression is made of the existing tooth. The impression is sent to a special lab, which manufactures a custom-designed crown. In some cases, a temporary crown is applied until the permanent crown is ready. Permanent crowns are cemented in place. Crowns are sometimes confused with veneers, but they are quite different.

Veneers

Veneers are typically applied only to relatively small areas and front part of teeth. Veneers are thin pieces of porcelain or composit resin cemented over the front of your teeth to change their color or shape. Veneers are used on teeth with uneven surfaces, chips, discoloration, odd formations, uneven spaces or crooked alignment.

Family Dentistry

Dr. Kim T. Le and the rest of the team at Oak Ridges Family Dentistry are committed to making visits comfortable for patients of all ages.  Before your child turns 3 years old, we recommend bringing him or her into our office for a ride on our chair, to meet Mr. Sunshine and Mr. Thirsty and most importantly to watch you during your cleaning session. Your child will be reassured with his or her first cleaning from watching your actions.

Night Guards

Night guards are plastic devices that cover all of the upper or lower teeth.  The guard is molded from an impression of your upper and/or lower teeth and used to prevent wear caused by tooth grinding and clenching during sleep. It is also for some people, an initial treatment for TMJ Disorder.

Root Canal Therapy

Root canals are tiny passageways that branch off from beneath the top of the tooth, making their way vertically downward, until they reach the tip of the root. These canals contain nerve tissue as well as blood vessels. Root Canal Therapy is sometimes necessary if the nerve tissue has been infected or invaded by bacteria. Root Canal Therapy is a procedure to remove all damaged tissue and reseal these canals with a special material.

Scaling

Scaling is a procedure performed by our hygienists and dentist by removing plaque and calculus from tooth surfaces.

Whitening

Whitening procedures have effectively restored the smile of people with stained, dull, or discolored teeth. It can be done at home or at our office.
